The Resort Palanga
Palanga is a Lithuanian city by the Baltic Sea. The Baltic coast has attracted overseas settlers, merchants, and conquerors since 1161. From the 13th to the 18th centuries, the inhabitants were engaged in fishing, collecting amber cast by the sea, and trading with the towns on the Baltic coast. The harbor has always been alive and bustling with life. The town, which has preserved its old resort traditions since the 19th century, has become one of the most popular on the Baltic coast.
As time progressed, the town has naturally evolved to adapt to the needs of visitors. The main points of attraction have become the beach and Basanaviciaus street, which is packed with entertainment, souvenir shops, cafés, amusement park rides, and a large number of people.

The Right Ear
“Saturated” – we could replace this word with any synonym meaning excess: overflowing, brimming, abounding, teeming, abundant, excessive... and it is precisely the sense of excessiveness – the cocktail of eclecticism and cacophony – that I convey with an authentic recording made in 2022-2023, in the Palanga Basanaviciaus street. In the right ear.
The Left Ear
Basanaviciaus street leads to the beach. The beach, the city’s recreation area, becomes a kind of authentic (sub)cultural podium, which contradicts the area’s primary function – recreation. The dense mass of people creates a huge bustle that resembles a faulty TV set mixing all the programs at once. In the left ear.
